First I would like to say a BIG thanks to anyone and everyone for dropping by. I live in the beautiful city of Toronto (Etobicoke actually) which is a city within the city of Toronto. After high school I attended and graduated from the Humber College Music program where I studied jazz saxophone (alto and tenor). During that time I also got into landscaping and ran a design build company for many years. Although I have no formal training in photography I have always had a keen interest and respect for the arts. I find a lot of similarities between landscape design and photography. They both are really about making a composition and use the same compositional elements such as focal points, leading lines negative and positive spaces and the rule of thirds. Underlying all of this is my fascination with the natural environment and how we and everything else are linked together in so many subtle ways. Everywhere I go I find things which catch my eye like shadows falling across new snow, a flock of birds that reminds me of a school of fish or the way some wire is wrapped around a piece of steel. There is such beauty and fascinating things all around us and it is that which I try to bring out and share in my photography.
Some favorite quotes:
"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."
"Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography."
Take care and thanks for reading,
